Sandimen Township possesses striking landscapes, verdant mountains and winding rivers, plus the rich culture of the Paiwan and Rukai Tribes. It is the biggest township in the area. The geographical name comes from the Paiwan language – it was known as Sandimen in the Japanese era and officially named Sandimen Township in 1992. 

At Sandimen, you can take a trip combining mountain, river and sky, such as the Dajin Waterfall, or Saijia camping; visit the tribal areas for its culture or antiques; In addition, there are a lot of local food & beverages to enjoy.

The artisans of Sandimen Township are extraordinary, producing traditional arts in creative ways. By blending their traditional and modern techniques in creating their clothing, printing, dyeing and embroidery, pottery, wood and stone carving, and lazulite, they are able to express themselves and pass on their cultural heritage.
