Location: At the 2.5 km marker on Kaohsiung Rural Route No. 132.

The spot is located along the Jhuokou River south of Maolin Village. In the Rukai language it is called "Tubalu". The river flows slowly here, as the limpid water passes over a wide, flat riverbed of thin, soft sand. It is a good place for tourism and recreation. After crossing a suspension bridge and walking upstream along a path for about ten minutes, one will arrive at the Lovers’ Gorge Waterfall. .

The waterfall has a total of five levels, from the bottom to the top, but one can only reach the second level by the steps along the side. The lush forest, steep slopes, stunning mountain views and cascades of flowing water make this an ideal spot for summer vacationers. The surroundings are peaceful and cool; the clouds of mist from the waterfall make the summer heat disappear. On the side of the waterfall there is a pavilion for visitors to take a rest after swimming or to just enjoy the beautiful scenery. On holidays, it is a popular place for sight seeing, mountain climbing and river trekking. It is a scenic spot for recreation and avoiding the summer heat in southern Taiwan.
