The Saijia Recreation Area is a perfect place for outdoor fun with family and friends. Covering 7.93 hectares, the park is well equipped for camping, barbecuing and other recreations in the beauty of nature. Located at the 17 km point on County High Way 185 in Pingtung, the park was named by Premier Su Tseng-chang. In future, it will be privately managed to further improve visitor services and ensure the park’s sustainable operation.
Scents of the Woods: The secluded woods of the Saijia Recreation Area offer ample opportunity to breathe in the invigorating essential oils of the forest, whether walking among the trees or slumbering beneath them, with camping areas located amidst stands of camphor, devil trees, Formosan ash and other arboreal species.
The Twinkle of Stars and Fireflies: Far from the lights and noise of the city, the Saijia camping area looks up into a clear night sky filled with stars and their more earthbound mimics – the fireflies.
Viewing PlatformThe viewing platform at the Saijia Recreation Area offers a high vantage point from which to watch the aerial activities, like paragliding, in the park, as well as enjoy the scenic beauty of Pingtung. The platform area is surrounded by lush stands of various trees and an expansive meadow that are sure to delight.
Frog RockConsidered a guardian spirit of the Saijia Recreation Area, this rock bears an uncanny resemblance to its namesake amphibian. Look closely and you can feel the welcoming look in his eyes.1.
