Emergency-aid training is held during travel safety week

2018-03-23

The week of March 21 to 27, 2018 is the “travel safety advocacy week.” Taking the slogan of “safe and happy travel,” the Administration organized the “2018 Maolin National Scenic Area Emergency Aid Training” with An Tai Hospital. The trainees all learned to utilize AED, CPR and BLS. Those who passed a qualification test would get a certificate and be able to keep visitors safe.

The Administration’s director noted that, as the scenic area is rather remote, ambulance technicians may not be able to arrive in time when an accident takes place. It is hoped that, through this training, the Administration could set up an emergency-aid network of its own. When the Administration can offer some emergency aid before sending people to hospitals, death and injury rates shall be reduced.

The Administration will continue to promote safety information about mountaineering, water activities, air sports, cold weather, and earthquakes, at its main website and Facebook page, and through the visitor centers’ e-bulletin signs. Timely updates on the tourist spots in the scenic area will also be given, so as to ensure that all visitors have a safe and happy trip.
