A press conference unveiling “2018-2019 Mountain Town, Whispering Flowers” was held at 15:00, Saturday Oct. 27, 2018 at New Juejiang Shopping District in Kaohsiung City.
Director of Maolin National Scenic Area Administration Chien Ching-fa noted at the conference that Taoyuan’s indigenous culture and Baolai and Bulao’s hot springs, all in Maolin, are worth being explored. Hot spring baths are available at various prices so that everyone can enjoy the baths regardless of their budgets. The area is blessed with attractive natural views, too, making it a popular destination among domestic visitors. Director Chien urged visitors to come to Maolin to learn about its indigenous culture while appreciating the unique 18 Arhats Mountain. Of course, hot spring baths are not to be missed.
This year’s highlight is the “whispering flowers lunch box,” to be sold at NT$168 each. During the three-month festival period, “open-air parties under a starry sky,” flower-themed hiking tours, meadow music concerts, and Japanese yukata parades will be held. Local travel agencies such as EzTravel and Lion Travel will offer package tours. All visitors are encouraged to take part & immerse in the beauty of this mountain town.
