For visitors to enjoy their journeys safely, the Administration launches hiking tours

2020-08-21

How to travel in a fun and safe way has become a hot topic during the COVID-19 outbreak, and taking a field trip is becoming more popular by the day.

Promoting the 2020 Year of Mountain Tourism with the Tourism Bureau, Maolin National Scenic Area Administration recently launched a project entitled “Hiking Trails in Kaohsiung & Pingtung,” for people to enjoy their mountain trips. A total of six beautiful hiking trails are selected, including Xinwei Forest Park Mahogany Hiking Trail, Liangshan Waterfall Hiking Trail, Pulai Xitoushe Battle Trail, Sandimen Forest Park Hiking Trail, Rinari Round-the-tribe Hiking Trail, Zishalishali Hiking Trail, and Zhongzhiguan-Tianchi Hiking Trail. All members of the public are cordially invited to explore the trails.

In fact, to encourage people to walk the trails, from now until October 30, the Administration holds a prize draw for those who share their hiking photos on its Facebook page. The prizes include hotel accommodation for two, gift vouchers, and local specialties. The first 500 visitors who register for the hiking tours will be offered free travel insurance. The Administration hopes that more people can come to Kaohsiung and Pingtung to discover their beautiful forests, while immersing themselves in Taiwan’s magnificent mountain views.

Remember, the earlier the photos are uploaded, the more likely it will be to win the prizes. Those who finish climbing the six hiking trails can even join another special draw! For more information, feel free to call (04)3507-9797, visit the project’s website, or visit the Administration’s Facebook page.
