Combating COVID-19 in Maolin National Scenic Area

2021-05-17

The Central Epidemic Control Center noted on May 19 that the nation’s COVID-19 alert would be raised to level 3 from then to Jun 14, as domestic cases continued to show up not only in Taipei City and New Taipei City, but also in other cities and counties. The COVID-19 outbreak has truly worsened in Taiwan, and the government asks everyone to follow level-3 alert measures strictly at all times. Let’s work together and keep our communities safe.

Our anti-COVID-19 measures

  1.  Maolin, Rinari and Xinwei Visitor Centers are closed. Guided-tour booking is also suspended.
  2. All tourist venues operated by our contractors are also closed from May 20 on, such as Saijia Theme Park, Liangshan Recreation Area, 18 Arhats Service Area, Sens Cafe, Jubaolai Scenic Restaurant (Old Tree Plaza), Butterfly。Svongvong Bakery, Wuguang Yuntai B&B, and Baolai Water Park.
  3. The scenic area is rather remote. We lack sufficient medical supplies, and it takes a long time to go to the nearest hospital. As most locals hope for, we will shut down all scenic spots from May 20 on, and ask unknowing visitors to leave during our regular patrol. We hope to keep COVID-19 from spreading in this way.
  4. Our visitor centers and nearby facilities are sanitized 6 times daily on weekdays and 8 times daily on weekends.
