Highway traffic dispersion measures will be in place for the New Year

2021-12-23
  1. Jan. 1-2: From 14:00 to 21:00, National Highway 5 will only be accessible to high occupancy vehicles to and fro Su’ao, Luodong, Yilan, and Toucheng (northbound).
  2. Dec. 31 and Jan. 1: From 6:00 to 12:00, Nangang System (southbound) will only be accessible to high occupancy vehicles.
  3. Dec. 31: From 0:00 to 12:00, the following will be closed: National Highway Pingzhen and Puyan Systems, as well as National Highway Shiding and Pinglin Southbound Entrances.
  4. On Jan. 1, from 0:00 to 12:00, National Highway 1 Puyan System and National Highway 5 Shidig and Pinglin Southbound Entrances will be closed. From 7:00 to 0:00, National Highway 1 Puyan System and National Highway 3 Xibin Northbound Entrances will be closed. From 7:00 to 19:00, National Highway 1 Huwei Northbound Entrance will be closed.
  5. On Jan. 2, from 7:00 to 0:00, National Highway 1 Puyan System and National Highway 3 Xibin Northbound Entrances will be closed. From 7:00 to 19:00, National Highway 1 Huwei Northbound Entrance will be closed.
  6. On Jan. 1, along national highways, regardless of whether the drivers are heading north or south, no fees will be charged from 0:00 to 5:00.
  7. During the New Year vacation, single rates will be applied to National Highway 3 Hsinchu to Yanchao Systems, with a 20% discount.
  8. Single rates will be in place during the New Year vacation.
  9. During the New Year vacation, for those traveling a long distance, take Provincial Highway 61 and National Highway 3. For those traveling a short distance, do not take national highways, but alternative routes instead, to avoid traffic jams. Take public transport as well.
  10. Provincial Highway 61 is fast and convenient during the New Year.

  12. COVID-19 is still on during the New Year. Please take proactive measures against the pandemic when going out.
