2018-11-14

Groups of purple crow butterflies have gathered up at Maolin Butterfly Valley, a must-visit destination for winter travel in southern Taiwan. The beautiful insects now quietly await visitors to discover their beauty. This year, tens of thousands of purple crow butterflies come to southern Taiwan on time again to spend their winter here and take a year-end rest. A breath-taking ecological scene this is!

The Administration’s butterfly monitoring specialists and experts of the Maolin Environment Education Center will update daily butterfly status t the festival website, so that visitors can make the plans accordingly for a knowledgeable eco-trip.

Maolin Purple Crow Butterfly Valley is listed as a three-star (top rated) tourist destination on the Michelin Green Guide. It is also a highly recommended place on social media such as TripAdvisor. What’s more, the recently refurbished Maolin Purple Crow Butterfly 3D Audio-visual Center offers brand-new visual experiences. Visitors at home and abroad are all encouraged to immerse in Maoin’s natural wonders.

Travel agencies now offer one-day and two-day tours for visitors to explore indigenous cultures, Baolai hot springs and magnificent purple crow butterfly wintering sites in Kaohsiung and Pingtung.
