A side road between Wanshan and Duona leads to this suspension bridge that is 232m long and 103m high. Built during the Japanese Colonial Period, the bridge was an important step in the area's development as it was the only way to reach Duona Village. It was also known as the Lover's Bridge, because many people choose this location to bid farewell to family members, lovers, and friends who were leaving home. Local people believe that countless tears have been shed on the bridge by those whose lovers or relatives did not return home when expected. One story tells of a young woman who decided to jump from the bridge and end her life after suffering disappointment in love, but ultimately the height and strong winds convinced her to change her mind and she went back home. The bridge is now limited to 100 visitors at once, and all vehicles, including cars and motor bikes, are forbidden from crossing it. Parking is available in Wanshan near the bridge. Please keep these regulations in mind when you travel.
