    Zhongshan Park

Zhongshan Park is located across the Sandimen Township Office, right at where a martyrs’ shrine used to be in the Japanese colonial era. The shrine complex was transformed into a park after Taiwan’s retrocession and is now a must-see for those visiting Sandimen for the first time.

The park’s outer wall is decorated by 60 pieces of flat stones with Deinagkistrodon patterns, which together recount the legends and daily life of the Paiwan Tribe and present how history and culture evolve over time. There is also an eye-catching landmark made from painted beads, clay pots, and bronze knives, the three treasures of the Paiwan Tribe. The landmark is huge and glorious, best representing the spirit of the Paiwan Tribe. Besides the landmark, visitors can also appreciate the indigenous culture and art while experiencing indigenous craftsmanship at the Sandimen Cultural Center nearby.

Visitors are recommended to spend around 30 minutes in the park, wandering around and appreciating public art displays made by local artists.
