    Xinwei Scenic Bridge

The Xinwei Bridge is located in Liugui District, near the 45km mark of Provincial Highway No. 28. Situated between the Liugui Main Bridge and the Dajin Bridge, the Xinwei Bridge spans across the Laonong River and connects the Provincial Highways No. 27 and No. 28.

The bridge serves as a major thoroughfare connecting regions in the Kaohsiung-Pingtung area to form a transportation network, linking counties and townships along the way, including Meinong, Liugui, Maolin, Dajin in Kaohsiung, and Gaoshu and Xinfeng in Pingtung. Thanks to the bridge, traveling time between any administrative areas in Kaohsiung is cut by up to half an hour.
The bridge features outward-leaning girders designed to make the bridge look like a purple crow butterfly. At night, the bridge will be cast in blue light from the shimmering illumination, creating the artistic effect of a huge purple crow butterfly flapping its wings, truly a sight to behold.

Visitors are recommended to spend about fifteen minutes here to appreciate the bridge's design and the scenery alongside the Laonong River.

It is located at 45Km from Taiwan Highway 28 in Liugui District, across the banks of Laonong River, between Liugui Bridge and Dajin Bridge, and connects Taiwan Highway 28 and Taiwan Highway 27. It was completed in April 1998 and opened to traffic in July, with a total length of 1,935 meters. It mainly connects the traffic in Meinong, Liugui, Maolin, and Dajin in Kaohsiung City, as well as Gaoshu and Xinfeng in Pingtung County. It can shorten the traffic in Kaohsiung City The time is more than 30 minutes. It adopts an outwardly inclined steel arch design structure, and is specially designed in the shape of a purple spot butterfly. It is also equipped with night lighting, making it both transportation and sightseeing functions. When the blue lights are shining at night, from a distance, the whole bridge opens and closes like the wings of a butterfly, which is very beautiful. Coincidentally, shortly after the completion and opening to traffic, faced with the Morakot typhoon, the bridges along the Laonong River fell down one by one, leaving only the newly built Caidie Bridge standing still. For all the tribesmen and travelers who came and went, this bridge symbolized rebirth and hope, and it was also like a flyover, because it played a very important rescue and era significance at that time.

The scenery is beautiful and suitable for walking. The bridge will turn on lights at night, with different light colors, but parking is not allowed on the bridge! Some cars will drive very fast here, so pay attention to safety even if the bridge is wide!

The 10-year-old new bridge spans the Laonong River. The creek bed under the bridge is covered with white thatch, which sways in the wind. It is really beautiful! With the help of Dawu Mountain, the scenery is great
