Day1
Meinong(for Hakka Delicacies)
Meinong, preserved complete Hakka culture, is the largest Hakka town in Kaohsiung. Here, tourists can appreciate the local architectural features, experience painting oil paper umbrellas, and visit Hakka blue-dyed shirts. You can also taste traditional Hakka snacks like flat rice noodles and pounded tea. The rich Hakka cultural experience here has also become a popular tourist attraction that tourists love.
Shenwei Tiantaishan Monastery
The Xinwei Forest Park sits on a tableland on the west bank of the Laonong River, around the 45km mark of the Provincial Highway No. 28. Since it is 200 meters above sea level, visitors can enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the Central Mountain Range and Laonong River below. The forest park used to be the biggest seedling plantation in Taiwan and covered an area of about 29 hectares. It is now home to more than 200 kinds of seedlings, mostly tropical plants. Mahogany, bamboo, and Chinese fir seedlings are most commonly seen in the plantation.
Liouguei Native Camellia Tea House
Liugui is abundant in locally grown high mountain tea. At the Liouguei Native Camellia Tea House, you can learn about the native mountain tea and its fragrance and book meals in advance. Or make an appointment to experience the tea ceremony, tour guides, tea rolling DIY, and other activities. Suggest buying some souvenirs to take home and share with family and friends!
Baolai Hot Spring Area
The Baolai Hot Spring Area is located in Baolai Village of Liugui and can be accessed by Baolai Bridge No. 1. It is now a famous Hot Spring Resort in the south, but it used to be a pristine forest in the Japanese colonial era. Back then, the region was covered by cypress, camphor, and zelkova trees, forming a lush forest that ed the Japanese people to name the place Penglai Paradise, later known as Baolai.

Experience a unique tea ceremony and tasting local aiyu jelly in Taoyuan District.
Ikeda House
Ikeda House is the old Liugui Kaohsiung Bus Station. It was formerly a hotel run by Japanese Hyotaro Ikeda, so the name Ikeda House. Preserving the time's interior design, the Ikeda House is a rare Japanese-style inn building. Visitors can learn about its historical changes through the wall explanation boards and old photos.
