Sandimen Township

Sandimen Township possesses striking landscapes, verdant mountains and winding rivers, plus the rich culture of the Paiwan and Rukai Tribes. It is the biggest township in the area. The geographical name comes from the Paiwan language – it was known as Sandimen in the Japanese colonial period and officially named Sandimen Township in 1992.

At Sandimen, you can visit Dajin Waterfall for gorgeous scene or Saijia camping site. The tribal culture and ethnic cuisine are the features you cannot miss out.

Sandimen is also famous for its art works, such as the embroidery and printing on their clothing, dyeing, pottery, sculpture and glass beads. Combining modern art, the artisans demonstrate a new style of the tribal totems. You will be amazed by it.
