Get free suspension-bridge tickets at Rinari upon purchase of local goods and services

2016-02-03

Since Pingtung’s glass-bead suspension bridge was inaugurated last year, large crowds have come daily to appreciate the work of art. This has however only benefited the nearby Rinari Tribe very limitedly, when it comes to tourism income. To ease the visitor traffic while increasing such income, the Pingtung County Government invited the administration teams of the Liudui Hakka Cultural Park and the Maolin National Scenic Area to come up with a solution. It was decided that 150 admission tickets would be given to visitors for free on each weekday upon purchase of local goods or services, and 200 on each Saturday, Sunday and holiday. The government staff hopes that this good-will measure will encourage visitors of the bridge to explore surrounding tribes more.

Visitors can get a free admission ticket to the suspension bridge upon purchase of goods or services worth NT$300 or more in the local tribes or recreation areas, from February 5 to 29, 2016.  In this way, not only that the visitors won’t have to wait in line to buy their tickets, the tribes will also enjoy more income. It is hoped that more visitors will be drawn to the indigenous Rinari region soon.

Tickets to the glass-bead suspension bridge are to be distributed by the Maolin Administration Team.
