Watch butterflies, take explorations, and do handicrafts shopping in wintertime Maolin

2021-02-01

Maolin received a few cold currents earlier this year, and as a result many people are visiting the place to watch wintering purple crow butterflies. In reception of these winter vacationers, Maolin National Scenic Area Administration now launches “tribal explorations” which include quizzes and adventure games about Maolin’s three tribes. Each participant will be given a set of postcards upon finishing an exploration. What’s more, Rukai Butterfly Conservation Market will be held on February 6 & 7 for those wishing to bring indigenous goodies home. Let’s enjoy the last weekend of the Year of the Mouse in Maolin together!

Again, thes spring is just around the corner, and Rukai Butterfly Conservation Market will be held on February 6 and 7 - the last weekend during the lunar New Year vacation - at Maolin Multi-functional Activity Center. Local handicraft artists and kitchen owners will be at the market to sell crafts and food. Indigenous musicians will also give performances for everyone to enjoy the last weekend of the Year of the Mouse. Feel free to watch purple crow butterflies, play adventure games and explore the market, while awaiting the spring.
