Based on concepts such as “butterfly encounters in the mountains” and “traveling across mountains in wintertime,” Maolin National Scenic Area Administration promotes the purple crow butterfly season, indigenous tours in northern Pingtung, and small-town trips in the mountains areas in Kaohsiung and Pingtung. A few local travel agencies also offer thematic package tours for visitors to happily explore these places.
The purple crow butterfly season has arrived, and the hot spring festival in Liugui, Baolai and Bulao has begun. From now (December) until March next year, Maoin Mountain Market will be held on weekends. There are also many tourist destinations and cultural sites in Kaohsiung and Pingtung’s mountainous areas, for visitors young and old to explore. Please visit southern Taiwan, where the climate is mild and mountains are beautiful. Let’s take small journeys along mountain paths.
