The Rinari tribe is located in Majia Township, Pingtung County. Rinari means "The place we go and everyone else goes”; it also means "a place waiting to be blessed." At the market, visitors can enjoy indigenous food, as well as original handicraft art work, such as hand-made tableware bags, totem headscarves and many other cultural and creative pieces. In addition, indigenous singers are invited to the market to perform. There are also free and limited DIY experiences such as painting bamboo and dragonflies, totem painting, weaving bookmarks, etc. Visitors get to enjoy a 100% authentic "over the mountain" atmosphere.
The two-month-long "Market Over the Mountain" is held from October 8-30 in Xinwei Forest Park, Liugui District, Kaohsiung City; from October 22-November 13 in Majia Township, Pingtung County Rinari Visitor Center; from October 29-November 20, in the venue next to Yani Sports Stadium, Taoyuan District, Kaohsiung City; and from November 19-December 11 in Zhongshan Park, Sandimen Township, Pingtung County. The market opens each day from 10:00am to 16:00pm. During the event, visitors can take photos and check-in at the market site to claim a limited Forest Mountain fragrance hanging card.
